Route 66 Dedications

Tell your story on Route 66 and help us build a place for families to make their own Route 66 Memories

A Plaque is a wonderful way to memorialize or honor a loved one or share as a meaningful gift for a birthday, anniversary, new baby, or graduation. In recognition of contributions to the fund, 66 main street will install a personalized plaque on the front wall of the property.

While the development of the property will take months, a personalized certificate can be provided upon adoption to notify the recipient that a plaque in their honor has been added to historical route 66. You can write the plaque inscription yourself or let the recipient choose their own message, which will be shared with Route 66 visitors for years to come.

Three Dedication options.

Dedication Program Terms & Conditions:

  • From the date of installation, maintenance of your plaque is limited to 10 years and may be replaced only once if it has been damaged or vandalized. Upon expiration of the 10-year period, you have the option to renew your donation. The plaque will remain in place even if you choose not to renew, but maintenance is not indefinitely guaranteed.
  • New benches must be compliant with federal law as delineated in the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). This means the bench must be adjacent to an existing path or walkway that provides clear access to the bench for people of varying abilities.
  • Upon installation, all benches and plaques become the property and are maintained by 66 Main Street. Neither the donor nor the recipient, has any claim to ownership of either the bench or the plaque.
  • We cannot guarantee how long the approval process or installation process will take, and there are likely other applications in the queue ahead of yours. Please be patient and expect the whole process, start to finish, will take several months.

Donation Details:

We accept payment via check, made payable to “66 Main Street” OR via credit card, made online on our donation page. For the latter option, please select “Dedication” from the drop-down menu, and add any additional notes in the comment section.

Your donation is not tax-deductible. You are not required to make your donation until after your application has been approved, and making a donation before does not guarantee your application will be approved.
